Boomslang - Rwanda
Rwandan Coffee with Distinctive Character
Huye Mountain coffee showcases the best of Rwanda’s coffee-growing heritage. Grown in the high-altitude hills of the Huye District, these beans are medium-roasted to highlight their natural complexity. Expect vibrant notes of red berries, honey sweetness, and a light floral finish.
A Focus on Quality and Sustainability
This coffee is the result of meticulous care at every stage. Farmers handpick ripe cherries, which are carefully washed, fermented, and sun-dried on raised beds to preserve their unique flavour profile. Huye Mountain Coffee works with over 1,300 smallholder farmers who are provided with training, micro-loans, and essential farming resources to ensure a consistent, high-quality harvest.
Versatile and Full of Flavour
These beans are crafted to suit all brewing methods, from espresso to French press and pour-over. The medium roast strikes a balance, making it ideal for those who enjoy a vibrant, clean coffee without overwhelming acidity. Whether black or with milk, the cup is smooth and well-rounded.
Supporting Ethical Coffee Farming
Huye Mountain Coffee was founded in 2012 by David Rubanzangabo, who has worked in the Rwandan coffee industry since 1998. His vision was to create a sustainable supply chain while empowering local farmers. Today, the initiative is recognised for its quality and ethical approach, earning accolades like second place in the Cup of Excellence.
Tasting Notes
Apricot, Vanilla, honey sweetness, and citrus undertones with a smooth, balanced finish.
