Fundamentals of Espresso Workshop - Sunday - Feb 15th - 2026
Make espresso that doesn’t taste like regret
(No beard, tattoos, or £5k setup required)
Learn How Espresso Actually Works
Espresso is brilliant… until it isn’t. Sour shots. Bitter shots. Shots that look fine but taste like sadness.
This workshop is all about understanding espresso properly, so you know why things go wrong and how to fix them, without guessing or chasing your tail.
Whether you’ve got a Sage Barista Pro, another home espresso machine, or you’re thinking about upgrading, this session will give you the confidence to pull consistent, genuinely good shots at home.
What you’ll learn:
• What espresso actually is (and why it’s so unforgiving)
• Dose, grind size, yield & time, and how they work together
• How to dial in espresso without wasting half a bag of coffee
• Why your shots taste sour or bitter (and how to correct them)
• The role of fresh coffee, water, and temperature
• How to use scales, timers, and your taste buds properly
• Basic milk steaming fundamentals for espresso-based drinks
• How to clean and maintain your espresso machine & grinder
Who it’s for:
Anyone who owns (or is thinking about owning) an espresso machine and wants their coffee to taste deliberate, not accidental.
Perfect if you:
• Feel like you’re nearly there but can’t quite crack it
• Get wildly different results day to day
